Have you ever wondered why there are both high-performing and low-performing students in the same class? If you want to improve your result, following study strategies of high-performing peers is the best idea. This blog will highlight the importance of having a study strategy, especially in online learning. Savvycle understands that each student has a different study strategy. Our team aims to guide you in designing a study strategy so that you can create your approach to learning. This is particularly relevant in the context of online learning, where self-guided study is often the norm.
Since the wake of global pandemics such as COVID-19, our approach to education has undergone significant transformations. As we usher in a new era, online learning has played a significant role. Traditionally E-learning has focused on nontraditional students, such as full-time workers, military personnel, and nonresidents or individuals in remote regions who are unable to attend classroom lectures. Now online learning is a new norm. It is a million-dollar industry and instead of vocational subjects. Now online learning are helping kids with their syllabus and improve learning skill and pass competitive exams as well.

Savvycle understands that all you need is a way to adapt to online platform. After working closely with numerous students with high results of studying online, we decided to share our experience with you. As can be observed from our research, online students have some factors that impact their study performance such as distractions at home, lack of face-to-face interaction, and the need for self-discipline or time management. It can also be difficult to stay motivated and engaged in the absence of a physical classroom environment.
Our Savvycle teams have gathered some tips from our top educators who have a deep understanding of online learning strategies. Let’s delve into these insights to enhance your online learning experience.

1. Set a regular study schedule
We suggest using reminder apps such as Notion or Google Calendar to arrange specific lesson slots for each subject. As a result, you are reminded to join the class on time and remember the previous lessons you have studied. We ensure that you have not missed any lessons or lack of time management. If you are not a tech person, we recommend you go old school, write it down on a piece of paper, and stick it to your room where you can see it.

2. Create a dedicated study space.
Our team suggests that you should to find a quiet space and set up your study corner which can motivate your study mood. The question is why does your study space matter? For instance, is there a place to keep reference materials within arm’s reach while working? Is there anything you can do to make your study time easier or more efficient? It needs a desk or table, a chair, access to power, an internet signal if required, and a good light source such as a desk lamp or well-positioned ceiling lights. Our experienced team of teachers at Savvycle recommends that your space should be cool or warm enough for your comfort as you study. Try to make it a welcoming place you want to be in—not an uncomfortable environment that makes you want to just do the minimum you must complete and leave.
3. Stay connected with your classmates and instructors.
Every class needs communication and discussion, especially when your study condition is not a face-to-face interaction. Someone have said: “Facilitating a lively, but controlled, classroom discussion is truly an art form.” We think that effective classroom communication is the key to leading to the basis of good educational outcomes. Our Savvycle teacher’s team encourages you to raise questions if there is something that you do not understand. Students who can communicate effectively can advocate for their own social and emotional needs and are less likely to turn to negative behaviors such as acting out, attention-seeking, dissociation, or ‘tuning out.’

4. Take regular breaks to avoid burnout.
Our team believes that applying 50/10 rules (50 minutes of study and 10 minutes break) is one of the best ways. It helps to avoid burning out, enhance focus, cut down on distractions, maintain mental clarity, digest new information, and be more productive during designated work time.
5. Make use of all the resources provided by the online platform.
The Savvycle team also believes that once you have known how to use all the available resources provided by online learning, you will have better study results. Since your online learning courses can be from well-known universities or professors that you can not find in the traditional classroom. It is extremely important to make use of all these lectures.
Our team has researched a report by the U.S. Department of Education, based on examinations of comparative studies of online and face-to-face versions of the same course from 1996 to 2008, which concluded that online learning could produce learning outcomes equivalent to or better than face-to-face learning. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the most prestigious universities in the USA, announced in 2002 that these methods are one of the most effective ways of learning online tips. Online learning offers numerous benefits such as flexibility, accessibility, and the ability to learn at your own pace. E-learning also allows you to access a wide range of courses that might not be available locally. A common question is: “How can I stay motivated in an online class?”. The key is to set clear goals, create a study schedule, and find ways to engage with the material.
